Iven Tu is an independent filmmaker whose genre-bending work explores themes of race, gender, and spirituality through the lens of fantasy, dark comedy, and psychological thrillers. Currently pursuing an MFA in Writing & Directing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Iven has been recognized with the TSOA Graduate Scholarship, Maurice Kanbar Scholarship, and TSOA Masters Film Future Fund. His narrative short Sand Land screened at 16 international film festivals, including the Oscar®-qualifying Edmonton International Film Festival, while his latest film, The Pink Funeral—a dark comedy about familial reconciliation and queer identity—earned the Carl Lerner Award for Social Significance at NYU's First Run Film Festival.
